Types of Exercise on a Rebounder

Just plain jumping on a rebounder will certainly do the body good, but there is so much more that can be done on one that will give so many health benefits.

One exercise that can be done on a rebounder is the regular jump.  This exercise is go-at-your-own-pace, where the exerciser has complete control over the intensity.  This is the simplest way to get exercise using a rebounder.  This is also an exercise that doesn’t require a lot of balance and concentration, it is basically just jumping.

Another exercise that can be done on a rebounder is the jog-in-place.  This exercise does require a bit of coordination, balance, and concentration.  The exercise is performed just how the title explains; the exerciser stands on the rebounder and bounces on each leg as if they were jogging.  Some people even say that this form of exercise is more beneficial to the body than walking or running.

The last workout you can do on a rebounder is the sitting bounce.  This can only be performed if the rebounder comes with a stabilizing bar.  The exerciser must lower the bar to where they can support themselves in a sitting position.  This is very beneficial to overall health because by having to support yourself in the sitting position strengthen your core and abs.  Also, being in the sitting position will work different muscles than the ones that get worked in regular jumping.

There are numerous benefits when it comes to exercising with a rebounder.  It is a cardio exercise, so if you don’t like walking or jogging, jumping on a rebounder is a great alternative.  Just make sure you have pretty good balance before trying a really intense workout.  You have total control over your workout so if you want an easy, slow pace then that is an option.
